A new statistic and legal database offers a unique view of the use of capital punishment in more than 90 states.

The Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago, USA) and the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty have launched an international database on the practice and laws of retentionist states.
This new and unique resource will enhance the general understanding of the application of the death penalty and prospects for abolition.
Data from 90 states and 2 territories have been compiled by an international team of researchers. The database includes statistics, information on penal laws, criminal procedure, death row conditions and political developments.

It is now available on line at www.deathpenaltyworldwide.org.

Les données sur la peine de mort pays par pays

Une nouvelle base de données statistique et juridique offre un panorama inédit de l'utilisation de la peine capitale dans plus de 90 Etats.
Le Centre international pour les droits de l’homme de la Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago, Etats-Unis) et la Coalition mondiale contre la peine de mort lancent une base de donne internationale sur la pratique et les lois des pays rétentionnistes.
Cette nouvelle ressource unique permet d'améliorer la compréhension générale de l'application de la peine de mort et les perspectives d'abolition.
Des informations sur 90 États et 2 territoires ont été compilées par une équipe internationale de chercheurs. La base de données comprend des statistiques, des informations sur les lois pénales, la procedure pénale, les conditions dans les couloirs de la mort et l'évolution politique de ces pays.
